About me

Hi, I’m Hela. I love writing and I love traveling, which is why I’ve combined these two passions of mine into not just one, but two travel blogs:

The blog Little Adventures is my travel diary. You’ll find experiences, emotions, and atmosphere there.
Here on Všudybylka I share overviews, tips, and structure to help you head out to those places on your own.

I’ve been traveling since I was in the cradle—if I’d had a cradle, that is. Instead, it was replaced by the night train to Slovakia, which would pleasantly rock me to sleep with its rattling. We used to take it to visit my grandpa and grandma. And when I wasn’t sleeping on a train, I was being lulled by the bus that took me to Karlovy Vary to see my other grandmother.

One of the greatest experiences of my life was a school exchange trip to England when I was twelve. I still remember this adventure today—the joyful tension of being in a foreign country with just my friends and teachers, how I got lost and found again on the ferry, how we were confused by English packed lunches and fed seagulls a sandwich we couldn’t decide contained pâté or peanut butter. Picturesque England, cute little houses, the ravens at the Tower, the white cliffs of Devon, fun, laughter, adventure. These feelings stayed with me forever and defined my love for travel.

Since I was little, I used to look out the window at night, watching the lit-up windows of trains and imagining what strange and wonderful places they might be heading to. And it hasn’t left me to this day, only instead of trains, I watch the planes overhead and imagine what it would be like to be on board.

Ten years ago, I decided I wouldn’t just stick to imagining, so I set out on the road again. First with my ex-boyfriend, then on my own. So far, I’ve mostly traveled around Europe, but I still have the whole world left to explore!

First-hand and bucket list

I write about places I’ve personally visited—I mark those with the First-hand tag. Occasionally, though, I’ll write about another spot in a given destination that caught my eye and that I’d like to see—these places are clearly marked in the intro and have a Bucket list tag.

On Všudybylka, I make a point of doing thorough research. When I write about a place, I try to find practical information, visitor experiences, and small details that often come in handy when planning a trip.

Affiliate links

My big dream is for this blog to one day fund my travels. That’s why links to accommodation, experiences, flights, and tours are affiliate links—meaning if you click a link and buy something, I get a small commission without you paying anything extra.

Maps for sale

On the blog, you can also buy maps of places I’ve visited, where I’ve marked interesting spots to visit and good accommodation options.
